In 2003, after a highly successful number of years teaching music in the school system, I entered the real estate profession. I have spent the past 13 years working with Royal LePage in the Southern Vancouver Island area.

Here I am proudly standing next to a very important sign of mine. This property represented the first time I...

I have conducted real estate transactions from Sidney, to South Oak Bay, to Sooke, and as far up island as Ladysmith and Lake Cowichan. I have a special interest in two larger areas – South Cowichan, and in Victoria as well. I maintain offices in each of these areas – one in Mill Bay at my home, and the main one on Oak Bay Avenue.

Additionally, because of my background in education, I have a passion for working with first time buyers; I find it incredible rewarding to help people buy or sell their first home. Having grown up on a hobby farm in Ontario, I also enjoy working with buying and selling acreages, farms, and vineyards.

My beloved Stratocaster 3000 and my Fender 750. These guitars have hundreds of public performances under their belt.

I am a bit of a foodie, and I greatly enjoy cooking and discovering new things that way. Recently I have discovered a new passion in the kayak. I also like to renovate – a skill and interest, which I believe shows greatly in my approach to assisting buyers evaluate their potential purchase.

I love working with people that are new to our part of the world – Vancouver Island is amazing, and after having lived and/or worked in 8 provinces, It is my favourite place to live in Canada. Again, I also find working with buyers and sellers that are new to the process of buying here extremely rewarding.

Kayaking in Victoria's beautiful waterways.

At a personal level, I try to embrace what this area has to offer – I have always been very involved in the arts, specifically in music. I have made a career through conducting ensembles, both vocal and instrumental, and I play guitar as well piano and various wind instruments.  I have recently assisted with the music in the Victoria Operatic Society which was a very satisfying endeavour.

Here I am conducting my class in Disneyland.

I will listen to your questions and work towards fulfilling your needs in a stress free manner.  I believe in patience, thoughtfulness, clarity, honesty, and a bit of humour.  It is my goal to be as complete and accurate in the transaction as possible, so as to ensure your success with your sale or purchase.

I think there are several important elements that need to be valued in order to conduct a successful real estate transaction. Here are some qualities that I try to keep in mind when I work:

Knowledge

Even the most avid real estate consumer and experienced REALTOR® need to keep up to date on changes in the industry. As a professional Realtor, I need to impart that information to the consumer, keep the process legally safe and create contracts that will stand up if challenged. As a professional educator and realtor, I have the knowledge, understanding and experience that helps to make the process less stressful for you, the client.

Commitment

I believe in loyalty to my clients, and I believe that because I work with this in mind, they will in turn provide their loyalty to me in conducting real estate work. This is a cornerstone of why I take the time to work in the way I do, which sometimes takes a bit more effort, but in the long run is more successful. After over a decade in realty, repeat business and referrals are the major part of my business.

Honesty

Real Estate transactions are often the largest financial dealing most of us have during our lives.  As such, the professional that the buyer or seller engages needs to have their complete trust and confidence. I practice real estate with your best interest as my guide.  I would rather have a happy client that endorses my work, and clients that know I am working to make sure we will be doing the correct approach.

Energy

I work in real estate because I enjoy it, find it incredibly rewarding, and because I like to work with people dealing with one of the most important elements of lifestyle – finding the right home. Overall, I want to make sure that the client experiences the process in a way that meets their needs, satisfies their goals, and provides them with the confidence and trust to use my services in the future.
